"In 2013, our small 3-person startup went from making $1,000/mo (not even enough to pay for our office) to making over $50,000/mo by the end of the year. We had no funding or social following when we started. We built our business from the ground up through relationships and hard work.
At the beginning of that year, we were totally broke and burned out (after struggling to build the business for 2 years prior). We almost threw in the towel many times, but decided to push forward with no guarantee of success. We scraped by for several months, picking up random side jobs to pay the bills and keep the dream alive. And when things started to shift, it was an incredible feeling.
It's fun to look back and reflect on the journey. It motivates me to keep dreaming big and never give up. But most importantly, it reminds me that the JOURNEY is the reward. The daily grind, the little wins, the shared experiences.
Even though the process of building your business can feel daunting at times, you can still enjoy the present moment and celebrate the little wins along the way. There is no destination. There is only the here and NOW. Appreciate what you have and keep your mind focused on what you WANT, not what you fear."
